Never Alone

“…I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5

How precious this phrase has become as I think back over some painful times in my life. There were times when I felt forsaken by people who should have been there for me. Even as an adult, there are times when I feel so vulnerable and alone. But the truth of the matter is that people will fail. They will fail me and I will fail them. But He never does! He will never leave me nor forsake me. No matter how much I mess up or how unworthy I may feel. Even in the most isolated, loneliest moments, He is there.

As someone who travels a lot, I have friends in many different time zones. Sometimes, when I want to talk to someone, it is in the middle of their night. But we never have to worry about that with God.

“He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” Psalm 121:3-4.

He is available as our Best Friend, at any time for anything. He wants to speak to us and wrap us in His love, if only we let Him. Let’s take advantage of the unconditional love of our Lord during those times when we feel most alone!
