Always "Home"

Elegant palm trees, smiling faces and crazy traffic. What do these have in common? They are all a part of my “home.” Not many months ago, I was filled with homesickness for my home country. How can you be homesick for two places at once? Perhaps only those who have lived overseas can truly understand. But now that I’m leaving, my heart is heavy. I feel so torn. The anticipation I was expecting to feel seems crowded out by the apprehension of leaving “home.”

Sure, there are frustrating parts…namely the fact that time is relative and everything takes longer than it should. But at the end of the day, this place captured my heart.

Sometimes it feels like I’ll never truly belong anywhere, but it is a comfort to know that wherever I am, I can be home. “lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Matthew 28:20. No matter where I am, where I go, or how I feel about it, He is always with me. And that is enough.
